Polish president responds to Russia's nuclear threats
Polish President Andrzej Duda has said that Russian President Vladimir Putin's nuclear threats are seriously perceived.
However, if the Russian leader decides to take such a step, it can expect a “response”, because the US also has nuclear weapons, Polsat News quotes President Duda as saying on September 23.
“The US is a big nuclear power, the biggest military power in the world, and the fact that the US perceives this Russian threat seriously is also a threat to Russia,” the Polish president said.
He noted that if Moscow breaks all taboos and even uses tactical nuclear weapons against Ukraine, which does not have nuclear weapons and today defends its territory by using only ordinary weapons, then it can expect a “response”.
“President Putin and his entourage know that the use of any, even tactical nuclear weapons against a state that does not have nuclear weapons, will put these gentlemen out of any world politics,” President Duda said.
The Polish president noted that this would mean not only a tribunal, responsibility for the committed crimes, but simply the exclusion of the Kremlin elite and entire Russia from the civilised world.
During an urgent appeal, Russian President Vladimir Putin has recently announced a partial mobilisation in the country and once again threatened the West with nuclear weapons, which Russia is ready to use if "there is a threat to its territorial integrity".
