Polish president: Zelenskyy visit setback for Russia
Polish President Karol Nawrocki said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Warsaw was a positive development for Poland, Ukraine, and the wider region, and a negative one for Russia.
Speaking during a joint press conference in Warsaw, he stated that the visit took place at his invitation and reflected close coordination between the regional countries on strategic and security matters, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
The Polish president also emphasised that he shares Zelenskyy’s assessment of Russia as a country whose policies could pose a threat to Europe.
This is the first official meeting between the leaders of the two countries since Karol Nawrocki took office on August 6 of 2025. It comes after Poland repeatedly insisted that it was Volodymyr Zelenskyy who should visit Warsaw.
