POLITICO: Baltics, Poland to push for new package of sanctions against Russia

Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Poland will suggest the European Union consider a new package of sanctions against Russia. 

According to POLITICO, the new package of sanctions may include a ban on cooperation in the field of nuclear energy. The package of sanctions may be presented on October 21 at the EU summit in Brussels.

It is reported that the main topic of the summit will be the situation in Ukraine. The new package of restrictions may include sanctions in the field of energy and technology. Restrictions on the import of Russian diamonds may also be proposed.

The publication says that European diplomats have not announced the introduction of a new package of sanctions "in the near future."
