Politico: Musk donates millions to support Republican party
Elon Musk is once again directing millions of dollars to Republican efforts to help the party retain control of Congress in upcoming elections, Politico reports.
The tech billionaire remains a major Republican donor following a reconciliation with US President Donald Trump.
Campaign finance filings show that at the end of 2025, Musk contributed $10 million to two major Republican super Political Action Committees (PACs), signalling renewed active involvement in party politics.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, who had a public conflict with Trump earlier in the year and had announced a pause on political spending, donated $5 million each to the Congressional Leadership Fund and the Senate Leadership Fund in December. Both organisations aim to help Republicans maintain congressional control.
This marked Musk’s second round of contributions to the groups during this election cycle, following earlier donations in June.
The contributions came shortly before Musk proposed creating his own political party, an initiative that appears to have made little progress.
