POLITICO: Netanyahu could disrupt US-Iran ceasefire

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be attempting to provoke a breakdown of the truce with Iran by striking targets linked to the pro-Iranian Shiite group Hezbollah in Lebanon, POLITICO reports, citing a European official.

“Netanyahu may be seeking to derail the ceasefire altogether,” the official emphasised.

Earlier, the Israeli premier stated that the temporary US-Iran ceasefire does not extend to Lebanon, noting that the Israel Defence Forces continues operations against Hezbollah in the country.
