Portugal issues no "golden visa" to Russians since February
Portugal has refused to issue "golden visas" to all Russian citizens who requested them after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine.
The Portuguese authorities suspended consideration of applications for the issuance of "golden visas" to Russians at the end of February 2022, TASS reports citing Portuguese newspaper Publico.
According to the publication, the Service for Foreigners and Borders received from February to August ten requests from Russian citizens for a residence permit in exchange for investments, but all of them were rejected.
Over the past ten years, as the agency notes, more than 430 Portuguese "golden visas" have been issued to Russian citizens, the total investment amounted to over 277 million euros [$281 million].
