A powerful explosion has occurred near the Romanian port of Constanța, and the area has been cordoned off as an investigation is underway.

A maritime drone was likely discovered in the port area in the morning, Caliber.Az reports, citing Euronews Romania.

The outlet reported that the drone had been programmed to detonate, and pyrotechnic specialists observed that a timer had been installed on the device.
