On September 14, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Hadrut settlement in Khojavand District.
During the visit, the head of state was briefed on the work carried out in the settlement, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Since Hadrut’s liberation from Armenian occupation during the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020, large-scale construction and infrastructure projects have been implemented, and work in this direction continues.
Completed projects include the Gadrut substation and Digital Control Center, a new military unit, a 12.5-kilometre Fuzuli–Hadrut road, a transformer station, restoration of existing power lines, repairs to eight water reservoirs, and installation of new water, sewage, and gas pipelines. Internal roads have also been renovated, and essential social infrastructure has been established, including a hotel and commercial and dining facilities.
Currently, the settlement has 541 houses, of which 462 are uninhabitable and 79 are partially habitable. Ten of these homes are already ready for occupancy, and all partially habitable houses are scheduled to be restored by the end of the year.
So far, 10 families, totalling 41 people, have returned to their ancestral lands in Hadrut.
During his visit, the president also visited the home of local resident Zahid Mustafayev.
