President Assad arrives in Moscow amid rising tensions in Syria

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has arrived in Moscow as tensions escalate in Syria.

Preparations are underway for a meeting between Assad and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian sources.

The visit comes at a time of heightened conflict in Syria, with discussions expected to focus on the ongoing situation and bilateral cooperation between Russia and Syria.

Today, Russia continues to view its relationship with Assad through the lens of strategic advantage. For example, reports suggest that Israel wants Russia involved in any settlement in Lebanon, highlighting how Moscow's support for Assad opens new channels of influence.

For Israel, this dynamic predates the Lebanon conflict.
