President Biden's microphone cut off mid-sentence by press secretary in Vietnam VIDEO
US President Joe Biden was cut off mid-sentence by his press secretary while talking to journalists following a visit to Vietnam, leaving many in the audience puzzled.
As reported by the Independent, Biden traveled to Vietnam following the conclusion of the G20 summit in India.
During a press event, the president was answering questions regarding business deals in aviation and semiconductors that had been agreed upon in the course of his visit. Yet as he was speaking, his press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre suddenly interrupted him mid-sentence and announced through speakers that the press conference had finished. President Biden continued to speak for a couple of seconds before realizing what had been announced and walking off stage. Yet as a journalist yelled out another question for him, he resumed talking into the microphone to reply, however as it turned out his microphone had been turned off already.
Popular political commentator, Benny Johnson commented on the bizarre incident on his X (former Twitter) page, asking "who is really in charge?".

The US president's visit to Hanoi to attend a ceremony organised by the ruling Communist Party, over 50 years following the Vietnam War, a lengthy and brutal Cold War-era conflict, was a historic event for both countries. According to Reuters, the president negotiated deals with Vietnam on semiconductors and minerals as well as an aircraft deal between Vietnam Airlines and American Boeing. The Southeast Asian nation lifted Washington to Hanoi's highest diplomatic status alongside China and Russia.
