President Xi calls for stronger EU-China ties, urges Italy to play key role
Chinese President Xi Jinping has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to deepening relations with the European Union (EU), calling for enhanced cooperation to address global challenges.
Speaking during a meeting with Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Beijing, Xi highlighted the importance of a closer partnership between China and Europe, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
“China is willing to strengthen ties and cooperation with the European Union to solve global problems and calls on Italy to play a positive role in this issue,” Xi stated, underscoring China’s desire to bolster its engagement with the EU as a whole.
Xi also stressed that it is essential for China and Italy to work together in resolving any differences that may arise, with the aim of ensuring “developed and stable” ties between Beijing and Brussels.
His remarks reflect China’s broader diplomatic efforts to solidify its relations with the EU amid a complex global landscape, including economic recovery, climate change, and geopolitical tensions.
