President Sandu says Moldova needs Ukraine's victory
Moldovan President Maia Sandu said in an interview with RadioMoldova that Ukraine's victory in the conflict with Russia is needed to solve the Transnistria problem.
According to her, official Chisinau has "done everything to prevent Moldova from being dragged" into the conflict, to preserve peace and order in Moldovan society, "to fight lies", Gazeta.ru reports.
"We are interested in the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, and I repeat once again that the solutions we see are only peaceful, and maybe when Ukraine wins this war and regains its territories, there will be a geopolitical opportunity that will allow us to settle the conflict peacefully," the head of state said.
She also pointed out that Moldova exists in the world thanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
