Princess Beatrice urged to consider leaving UK amid Andrew arrest

Princess Beatrice should consider relocating abroad to protect her marriage from the growing fallout surrounding her father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, a former British cabinet minister has said.

Writing in the Daily Mail, former U.K. Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries argued that Beatrice may need to leave the United Kingdom to prevent strain on her relationship with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, as scrutiny intensifies over her father’s legal troubles, Caliber.Az reports via British media.

“It seems to me that Beatrice has two choices,” Dorries wrote. “The first is to make her marriage work and for that to happen, she should follow in the footsteps of her sister—Eugenie is based in Portugal with her husband Jack Brooksbank and their two sons—and leave the UK.

British media have speculated about the potential impact of the scandal on the marriages of Beatrice and her sister, Princess Eugenie, although there is no concrete evidence that either relationship is in difficulty.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, has long faced allegations linked to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. Virginia Giuffre accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was 17 and being trafficked by Epstein. He has consistently denied the allegations and settled a civil lawsuit without admitting liability.

In February, Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested by Thames Valley Police in the United Kingdom on suspicion of misconduct in public office following reports that he leaked confidential government trade documents to Epstein. He has not commented publicly since his arrest and has previously denied any wrongdoing connected to Epstein.

King Charles III has taken steps to distance the monarchy from the scandal. Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his “Prince” title and the title Duke of York, while his daughters retained their princess titles.
