Protests of Azerbaijani activitsts on Khankendi-Lachin road demonstrated in New York PHOTO

On the Khankendi-Lachin road, for the eighth day, a protest of Azerbaijani activists against the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in Karabakh has been going on. Representatives of civil society institutions and youth are participating in the action, held under the slogans "Azerbaijan is the owner of its wealth!", "Long live Azerbaijan!", "End environmental terror", and "End mine terror".

According to Azertag, the rallies have already caught the interest at the international level. Azerbaijan International Business Partners Club (BPC), fruit and vegetable import-export company Agromix and Mediamark agency organized a campaign in the US centre in support of the action taking place on the Khankendi-Lachin road. Campaign posters were displayed in Times Square in downtown New York. At the same time, information pamphlets were distributed to foreigners passing through the area. The aims of the action are reflected on the posters and brochures, and the realities about Azerbaijan are brought to the attention of the Americans.

Speaking about the topic, Gulperi Bayramova, chairman of the Azerbaijan International Business Partners Club (BPC) and founder of Agromix, said that it is the duty of every citizen of Azerbaijan to support the protest action of civil society representatives and youth on the Khankendi-Lachin road.

“We decided to implement this in a different form. In the USA, in the centre of New York, we organized a support action under the slogan “Karabakh is Azerbaijan!” and "Protect Nature".

Noting the great public interest in the action, Gulperi Bayramova added: “During the day, through posters and brochures, millions of people received information about the Azerbaijani realities, the dirty policy pursued against our country by the Russian peacekeeping contingent and the military-political leadership of Armenia.”

It should be noted that the reason for the action was that the Russian peacekeeping contingent temporarily deployed on the territory prevented the preliminary monitoring on December 3 and 7 by a group consisting of specialists from the Ministries of Economy, and Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Real Estate Service under the Ministry of Economy and the "AzerGold" Company on the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in Azerbaijan and the ensuing environmental and other consequences.
