Pundit labels Pashinyan's westward tilt as "anti-Russian striptease"
According to Caliber.Az, political scientist Suren Surenyants made some comments during a rally at Charles Aznavour Square in Yerevan.
He stated that Nikol Pashinyan has decided to switch Armenia's foreign policy from Russia to the West. Surenyants believes that this decision is not wise because of the unstable international situation, and it is unlikely that Pashinyan will succeed in establishing relations with the West.
Surenyants also mentioned that there is nothing wrong with Armenia having relations with all geopolitical centres, including Russia, the West, China, Iran, and Georgia. He believes that Pashinyan's team is deceiving people by labelling those who disagree with their anti-Russian stance as pro-Russian. Surenyants clarified that he is not pro-Russian but is against the current state of Armenian-Russian relations.
Surenyants believes that Pashinyan's team is making an anti-Russian striptease in front of the West, which is why they were given $350 million for their efforts. He thinks that this money is not for Armenia but for Pashinyan to further worsen Armenian-Russian relations.
Surenyants says he is not against establishing normal relations with the West, but he believes these relations should be established with their own agenda, not anti-Russian slogans.
