Putin signals Russia’s willingness to continue energy cooperation with Europe
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on March 9 that Russia is prepared to continue supplying oil and gas to Europe, but emphasised that this requires a clear signal from European countries.
Speaking at a meeting on the global energy market at the Kremlin, Putin stressed the importance of not waiting for Europe to formally reject Russian energy supplies, and highlighted the need to redirect volumes to other international markets, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He identified Slovakia and Hungary as “reliable buyers” and reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to continue supplying these countries.
The president also noted an overall increase in Russian energy exports to various regions worldwide and encouraged Russian companies to use the current oil price environment to repay their debts to banks, citing the traditional stability of the nation’s energy sector.
