Putin, UAE leader discuss Persian Gulf tensions during phone call
Russian President Vladimir Putin and United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed the current situation in the Persian Gulf region during a phone conversation, the Kremlin press service said.
The two leaders emphasised the importance of reaching agreements aimed at normalising the situation in the region.
Putin also briefed the UAE president on developments related to Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine.
“The UAE leadership was thanked for its assistance in organising exchanges of prisoners of war and detained individuals between Russia and Ukraine,” the Kremlin said.
The conversation was described by the Kremlin press service as constructive and friendly, and it confirmed the two countries’ interest in further developing multifaceted Russian-Emirati cooperation.
