Qatari emir arrives in Uzbekistan

At the invitation of Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, arrived in Uzbekistan on a state visit on 5 June.

The President of Uzbekistan met the Emir of Qatar at the airport of Samarkand, UZdaily reports.

In honour of the distinguished guest, the state flags of the two countries were raised and a guard of honour was lined up.

The heads of state have risen to the pedestal. A solemn ceremony was held with the performance of national songs and dances.

The main events of the visit are scheduled for June 6. The leaders of the two countries visited the sights of the ancient city of Samarkand together on June 5.
