Red Crescent staff killed in Israeli strike on ambulance in Rafah

Two medics of the Palestine Red Crescent Society were killed in an Israeli army strike on an ambulance in the west of Rafah.

"Palestinian Red Crescent medics Haysam Tubasi and Suhail Hassouna were killed in a direct hit by the Israeli occupation forces on a Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance in the Tal Al-Sultan area, west of Rafah, while they were performing their humanitarian duty," the Red Crescent said on its social media page X, Kommersant reports.

On May 26, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported numerous casualties after an Israeli attack on a displaced persons camp northwest of Rafah. According to the Palestinian Civil Defence Service, at least 40 people were killed and dozens were wounded.
