Red Cross sends first emergency aid shipment to Iran
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has delivered its first emergency aid shipment to Iran since the outbreak of hostilities on February 28, providing relief expected to support nearly 25,000 people.
In a statement released on April 14, the ICRC said it had dispatched humanitarian supplies to the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), with an initial delivery of five truckloads arriving on April 13, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
The shipment includes essential items such as blankets, jerrycans, tarpaulins, hygiene kits, and solar lamps, aimed at assisting communities affected by the ongoing conflict.
The organization added that a second consignment, consisting of nine additional trucks carrying aid, is scheduled for delivery to the IRCS later this week.
