Refugee returns central to Syria–UK talks in Damascus PHOTO
Syrian and British officials held talks in Damascus on international migration issues and efforts to facilitate the safe return of Syrian refugees, Syria’s Interior Ministry said.
Deputy Interior Minister Major General Abdul Qader Tahan and Deputy Director of Immigration and Passports Colonel Walid Arrabi met with a delegation from the British Embassy to discuss coordination on migration-related matters, SANA reports.
The British delegation included the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for Syria, Ann Snow, and Kingsley Green, Director of International Migration Affairs.
The ministry said the discussions focused on procedures and practical steps to support the safe and orderly return of Syrian refugees.
The meeting comes amid broader discussions between Syria and international actors on refugee returns, migration management and post-conflict recovery efforts.
