Remittances from Russia to Kyrgyzstan reach all-time high in 2022

A record of $2.6 billion was transferred from Russia to Kyrgyzstan through money transfer systems from January through November 2022, as TASS reported, citing a report by the Kyrgyz National Bank.

The previous record was set in 2021 with $2.45 billion transferred from Russia to Kyrgyzstan within 11 months.

According to the National Bank, mainly migrant workers transferred money from Russia to Kyrgyzstan.

Currently, 700,000 to 1 million Kyrgyz citizens work in Russia.
