Russia launches over 110 drones at Ukraine, strikes Zaporizhzhia with missiles Details of nighttime attack
On the night of September 15 to 16, Russian armed forces launched 113 drones at Ukraine and struck Zaporizhzhia with multiple-launch rocket systems, according to Ukrainian military sources.
The sources say the attack involved 113 strike drones of the Shahed type and other unmanned aerial vehicles approaching from Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, with around 70 of them identified as Shahed drones, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
Ukraine’s air defence, in coordination with aviation units, missile divisions, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups, intercepted or suppressed 89 Russian drones across northern, eastern, southern, and central regions of the country.
Despite these defences, 22 strike drones hit six locations, with debris from downed drones falling in two areas. Two Russian drones remained airborne.
Additionally, around midnight, Russian forces fired ten rocket projectiles at Zaporizhzhia, reportedly from Tornado-S multiple rocket launch systems.
