Landmine blast injures resident in Azerbaijan’s Aghdara district
A mine incident has occurred in the village of Sirkhavand in Azerbaijan’s Aghdara district, according to a joint statement by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).
The statement noted that a resident of Yenibina village in the Khojaly district, 1967-born Vugar Ahmadov, was injured when a landmine exploded on an uncleared area of the former line of contact. He sustained a wound to his left leg, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
An investigation has been launched by the Tartar district prosecutor’s office.
ANAMA, along with the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor General’s Office, has once again urged citizens to follow safety rules, pay close attention to mine warning signs, avoid entering unfamiliar territories, and stay away from areas where mine clearance operations are being carried out.
