Retired Gen.: Nuclear power status - quite possible for Poland
A nuclear power status is quite possible for Poland.
“Obtaining nuclear weapons, and at the same time the status of a nuclear power, is quite possible for Warsaw in the next few years,” Retired Polish Gen. Jaroslaw Kraszewski told RFM 24 radio station.
“I think this scenario is quite realistic. Those with nuclear capabilities have a very high level of security. Such countries are not usually attacked and the possibility of taking any actions aimed at causing a local crisis is not even taken into account,” he noted.
Kraszewski emphasised that he views Poland’s acquisition of nuclear weapons as a task for the coming years.
The general suggested that the nuclear balance of power will be reviewed after the end of hostilities in Ukraine. He also noted that Poland must have nuclear weapons due to the strengthening of Russia's military power.
