Reuters: Iran threatens “crushing” retaliation amid Israeli strikes

Iran has warned of a “crushing” response following Israeli attacks on its territory, an Iranian official told Reuters.

The attacks, which began on February 28, reportedly targeted multiple sites in Tehran. Explosions have been heard across the Iranian capital and in several other locations.

At the same time, United States President Donald Trump said the US has begun air and sea strikes on Iran after Israel launched missile attacks.

The new Israeli strike comes after Israel and Iran engaged in a 12-day air war in June.

It follows repeated US-Israeli warnings that they would strike again if Iran pressed ahead with its nuclear and ballistic missile programmes and months of tensions in the region awaiting the possible attacks.
