Road maintenance works to affect over 40 locations in Baku Full list of streets

A wide range of routine road maintenance works are to be carried out across the capital city within the coming week, affecting over 40 locations.

The improvements are aimed at ensuring the comfortable mobility for citizens, as well as in preparation for the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13). The event will be hosted in Baku from May 17 to 22 May 2026 and is co-organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the Government of Azerbaijan. 

The road works have been scheduled to coincide with public holidays due to the relatively low traffic, Caliber.Az was informed by the Azerbaijan Automobile Roads Agency (AAY).

Repairs will be carried out on a number of streets and avenues in Baku starting from March 23, 2026, at 08:00 until March 30, 2026, 22:00.

Traffic will not be completely closed as restrictions will apply only to the lanes where repair work is being conducted.

In total, work will be carried out at 42 street sections and roads:

1. Heydar Aliyev Avenue (starting from bridge in front of Bazarstore supermarket, continuing until bridge that leads to Baku International Airport)

2. 8th November Avenue (starting from Yusif Safarov Street, until J. Nakhchivanski Military Lyceum)

3. Ziya Bunyadov Avenue (starting from “20 Yanvar” metro station, until Koroghlu interchange)

4. Babek Avenue (starting from bridge in front of Bazarstore supermarket, until Lutfizade Street)

5. Inshaatchilar Avenue (starting from Izmir Street to Huseyn Javid Avenue)

6. Tbilisi Avenue (starting from Abbasgulu Agha Bakikhanov Street, until “20 Yanvar” metro station)

7. Nariman Narimanov Avenue

8. Road leading up to Flag Square (starting from Azneft Square to Ahad Yagubov Street)

9. Huseyn Javid Avenue (starting from from Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev Street, until Mikayil Mushfiq Street)

10. Abbas Mirza Sharifzade Street (starting from Matbuat Avenue, until Muzaffar Hasanov Street)

11. Izmir Street

12 Koroghlu Rahimov Street (starting from from Tabriz Street, until Hasan Aliyev Street)

13. Fatali Khan Khoyski Street (starting from “Ganjlik” metro station, until Aliyar Aliyev Street)
