Romania to boost military reconnaissance with Vector, Scorpion drones

Romania’s Ministry of National Defence has signed a contract worth €30.7 million, excluding VAT, for the acquisition of reconnaissance drones intended to strengthen the operational capabilities of the country’s armed forces.
Romanian Defence Minister Radu-Dinel Miruță announced that the agreement was concluded with German company Quantum Systems under the SAFE program.
The contract considers the delivery of 34 Vector reconnaissance drones and 15 Scorpion multicopters in the Mini UAS category.
According to the Romanian defence ministry, the new unmanned systems are designed for surveillance and reconnaissance missions and are expected to enhance the army’s operational effectiveness and situational awareness capabilities.
