Romania, US agree on joint development of drone capabilities
Romania’s Defence Minister Radu Miruță has announced the signing of a letter of intent with US Army representative Daniel P. Driscoll on cooperation in the field of drones and counter-unmanned aerial systems.
Under the agreement, Romania will become the second country after the United Kingdom to gain real-time access to the Counter-UAS Marketplace platform, Caliber.Az reports per Romanian media.
The platform brings together more than 1,600 counter-drone solutions and is designed to accelerate procurement processes and improve responses to aerial threats.
Miruță stressed that the partnership strengthens regional security and demonstrates Romania’s role not only as a recipient of technologies but also as an active participant in defence cooperation.
Chief of the General Staff Gheorghiță Vlad described cooperation with the United States as a key element of both national and regional security systems.
