Romanian chief of defence staff questioned by anti-corruption prosecutors

Chief of the Defence Staff of Romania, General Vlad Gheorghiță, appeared for questioning at the military division of the National Anti-Corruption Directorate.

The general declined to speak to journalists upon entering the institution and was accompanied by a lawyer, Caliber.Az reports via Romanian media.

Romania’s General Staff declined to comment on the case “so as not to influence the ongoing proceedings.”

The institution stated that it is “fully cooperating with the competent authorities and will provide information that can be made public in accordance with the law.”
