Rome stands with Baghdad, calls for dialogue to ease tensions
Italy has reaffirmed its support for Iraq and called for diplomatic efforts to ease rising regional tensions following recent attacks.
The message was conveyed during a phone call between Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, where both sides stressed the importance of de-escalation and continued dialogue to resolve the crisis, Caliber.Az reports, citing Tajani’s post on X.

Both officials emphasized the importance of continuing efforts toward de-escalation and diplomatic dialogue to achieve a swift resolution to the crisis. Tajani also expressed Italy’s readiness to strengthen its partnership with Baghdad and support Iraq’s role as a stabilizing force and facilitator of dialogue in the region.
