Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez’s secret wedding details revealed

New details have emerged about Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez’s highly anticipated wedding after Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Notícias obtained the couple’s marriage record.

According to the document, the civil ceremony took place at the couple’s home in Cascais, Portugal, on August 11, at 1:30 p.m. The intimate ceremony was attended by the couple’s five children and four witnesses.

The witnesses were Miguel Paixão, a longtime friend of Ronaldo from his youth academy days at Sporting, Georgina’s sister Ivana Rodríguez, and Spanish jeweler José Rodríguez Sangil and his wife, Mónica González Martínez.

The marriage was officiated by Maria Manuel Folhadela de Oliveira, a registrar who traveled from Porto to conduct the ceremony.

The marriage record also confirms that Ronaldo and Rodríguez opted for a separate property regime. Under this arrangement, each spouse generally retains ownership of assets acquired before the marriage, as well as those obtained afterward.

Because separation of property is not the default marital regime in Portugal, the couple was required to sign a prenuptial agreement. According to the document, the agreement was signed one day before the wedding at a notary’s office in Lisbon.

Ronaldo and Rodríguez, who have been together since 2016, announced their engagement in August 2025, bringing months of speculation about their wedding to an end.

Despite the intense public interest surrounding their marriage, the couple opted for a private ceremony. Days earlier, hundreds of people had gathered near Funchal Cathedral in Madeira, Ronaldo’s hometown, believing the wedding might take place there. The ceremony, however, did not occur at the cathedral.

The marriage record does not list Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, or his sisters, Elma and Katia Aveiro, among those present at the ceremony.

The couple’s decision to keep the ceremony private contrasts with the enormous global attention surrounding their relationship, which has made them one of the world’s most recognizable celebrity couples.
