Ronaldo Jr takes step toward Real Madrid future

26 March 2026 08:59

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, the eldest son of Cristiano Ronaldo, trained with Real Madrid’s academy on Tuesday, March 25, as part of a potential pathway toward joining the club’s youth system in the near future.

The 15-year-old striker took part in sessions with Madrid’s under-16 side. He is currently part of the academy at Al Nassr, the Saudi Pro League team his father joined in December 2022, as per foreign media reports.

A possible move to Real Madrid would mark a return to a club closely tied to his father’s legacy. Cristiano Ronaldo remains the club’s all-time leading scorer, with 450 goals in 438 appearances during a nine-year spell in the Spanish capital. During that period, he won four UEFA Champions League titles, two La Liga championships and two Copa del Rey trophies.

Before moving to Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo Jr developed in the youth systems of Manchester United and Juventus, mirroring stops in his father’s professional career.

Although born in the United States, he represents Portugal at youth level. He received his first call-up in May last year, debuting for Portugal’s under-15 team against Japan at the Vlatko Markovic International Tournament. He has since progressed to feature at the under-17 level.

Cristiano Ronaldo, now 41, has captained Portugal national team since 2008 and holds the record as the nation’s top scorer, with 143 goals in 226 appearances. He led Portugal to victory at UEFA Euro 2016 and in the 2018–19 and 2024–25 editions of the UEFA Nations League.
