Rubio: Trump pushing for rapid ceasefire in Ukraine conflict

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that President Donald Trump is focused on securing a ceasefire and advancing a negotiated settlement to the Russia-Ukraine conflict as quickly as possible.

Speaking during a meeting of G7 foreign ministers, Rubio reiterated Washington’s position, according to reports cited by Caliber.Az.

“Today at the G7, I reiterated that President Trump is committed to reaching a ceasefire and negotiated settlement to the Russia-Ukraine war as soon as possible,” Rubio wrote on social media platform X.

The meeting is being held in the Paris suburb of Voisins-le-Bretonneux. According to Agence France-Presse, citing a source, the gathering is expected to conclude without a joint statement. The source indicated that France, which is chairing the meeting, plans to release its own statement instead.
