Russia approves Armenian ambassador’s appointment
Russia has approved the appointment of Armenian MP from the “Civil Contract” faction Gurgen Arsenyan as Ambassador of Armenia to the Russian Federation.
“The rumours have been spread for a long time that Arsenyan’s agrement was rejected. The decision was made to approve the agreman on May 8, when Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan left for Moscow to participate in a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union [EAEU]. He personally urged Russian leader Vladimir Putin to accept Arsenyan’s agreman,” Hraparak newspaper wrote, citing Russian sources, Caliber.Az reports.
Arsenyan refused to comment on this information, recommending to appeal to the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
A source in the Armenian Foreign Ministry responded that the ambassadors are recalled and appointed upon the presidential decree, and then the public is also informed.
