Russia attacks church in Ukraine's Kherson killing priest
In the afternoon of 13 June, Russian forces struck the territory of a church in the village of Bilozerka, Kherson Oblast, killing a 72-year-old priest and injuring a 76-year-old woman.
Andrii Yermak, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine posted the information on Telegram citing press service of the Kherson Oblast Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, at around 11:40, the Russians shelled a village in the Bilozerka district. The prosecutor's office has reported that a local resident was killed as a result of the occupiers’ targeted attack on the church. Moreover, a woman was wounded and taken to hospital. The number of injured is being clarified. Civilian infrastructure was also damaged.
Andrii Yermak has clarified that the Russian army shelled Bilozerka, hitting the territory of the church. According to him, a 72-year-old priest was killed and a 76-year-old woman was injured.
In addition, according to the Office of the President, four residential buildings, a post office, administrative buildings, the central square, and critical infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of Russian strikes.
