Israeli troops open fire on militants crossing “yellow line” in eastern Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) identified several militants who crossed the “yellow line” and approached Israeli troops operating in the Shuja’iyya area in eastern Gaza City, Caliber.Az reports, citing the IDF press service.
As the militants posed an immediate threat, the IDF opened fire to neutralize them.
Shortly afterward, additional militants were spotted crossing the “yellow line” and approaching IDF forces in the same area, and fire was again opened on them.
The Trump peace plan, signed October 9, introduced the "yellow line" as part of phase one: a ceasefire with IDF pullback from 45% of Gaza, retaining 55% including Shuja’iyya buffers for security. This line demarcates areas where Palestinian movement is restricted to prevent militant incursions, monitored by the US-led Board of Peace.
Similar incidents occurred on October 14, when IDF forces killed five Palestinians in Shuja’iyya for advancing beyond the line after warning shots, as per Gaza health officials. Hamas denies involvement and accuses Israel of using the line to maintain occupation.
