Russia increases monthly LNG shipments to South Korea Achieving record growth
By the end of 2024, Russia increased its liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports to South Korea by 29 per cent compared to 2023.
During 2024, Russian exporters shipped a total of 2.135 million tons of LNG to South Korea, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
Unlike 2023, where several months had zero exports, shipments in 2024 occurred every month.
Large-scale LNG in Russia is produced by the Sakhalin Energy plants, managed by Gazprom in partnership with Japan’s Mitsui and Mitsubishi, as well as Yamal LNG, in which Novatek, France's TotalEnergies, and Chinese companies CNPC and SRF are participants. In December 2024, three LNG shipments were sent from Russia to South Korea, the same volume as was exported by Russian companies in the same month last year.
