Russia, Kazakhstan agree to increase oil transit to China
Moscow and Astana agreed to expand the transit of Russian oil through Kazakhstan to China to 10 million tons per year under the document signed by the governments of the two countries.
According to the protocol, changes are being made to the seventh article of the oil transit agreement of 2013. Previously, the volume was set at 7 million tons of Russian oil, which Kazakhstan could transit to China. Now this figure has been increased to 10 million tons, Gazeta.ru writes.
Deliveries will be carried out through existing and newly created oil pipelines, including along the Tuymazy - Omsk - Novosibirsk-2 route and the Atasu - Alashankou direction.
In addition, Kazakhstan received the opportunity to annually send up to 1 million tons of its own oil and gas condensate to the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant (PCP) in transit through Russia. Deliveries will go along the route “Atyrau - Samara - Tuymazy - Omsk - Novosibirsk-2 - Priirtyshsk - Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant”.
