24 January 2026 10:14

A series of overnight Russian air attacks struck multiple Ukrainian regions, causing damage to infrastructure and civilian facilities and leaving dozens of people injured, according to local authorities.

In Kyiv, a combined air assault was carried out during the night, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. As a result of the attack, residents on the left bank of the capital experienced disruptions to water supply and heating services.

According to public sources, the strikes hit the thermal power plant.

The authorities also reported damage to the metro on an open section in the Slavutych-Vydubychi area. Trains on this line are running with changes.

As a result of the attack, one person was killed, and four others were injured. Several buildings and structures were hit, including the Roshen factory.

Kharkiv was also hit overnight, with 19 people reported injured, Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported. He stated that the city was struck by 25 Shahed-type drones. The attacks hit the Industrialnyi and Nemyshlianskyi districts, damaging both apartment buildings and private homes, as well as a dormitory housing displaced persons.

Two medical facilities were also damaged, including a maternity hospital. Several fires broke out across the affected areas following the strikes.

Meanwhile, Russian forces launched a large-scale barrage against the Zaporizhzhia region over the course of a single day. According to the head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, a total of 756 strikes were recorded across 29 settlements. These included 17 air strikes, the use of 483 drones of various types—mostly FPV drones—five attacks involving multiple launch rocket systems, and 251 artillery strikes.

The attacks resulted in 99 reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure facilities. Authorities said no civilians were injured in the Zaporizhzhia region.
