Russia lodges protest with Israel over strikes near Bushehr nuclear plant

Russia has sent a diplomatic message to Israel after the Jewish state launched airstrikes near the area in Iran's Bushehr city where Russian specialists are stationed, Maariv reports.

According to sources, the note was delivered through the Russian diplomatic mission in Israel. Moscow protested the strikes due to their proximity to the location of Russian personnel, although there were no reports of direct hits to residential complexes or any damage.

The strikes occurred near the Bushehr nuclear power plant, Iran’s only operational nuclear facility, which was constructed with Russian assistance and is operated by Russian specialists.
