Russia strikes Ukraine’s Sumy region: civilians killed
Russian attacks on Ukraine’s Sumy region have killed and injured civilians, local authorities report.
According to the regional military administration, two women aged 40 and 63 were killed by a guided aerial bomb in the Velykopysarivka community, while a 50-year-old woman sustained injuries.
Between the early hours of December 11 and the morning of December 12, Russian forces carried out more than 20 strikes across 14 settlements in six territorial communities.
The heaviest attacks were reported in the Sumy and Okhtyrka districts. Artillery, mortars, FPV drones, unmanned aerial vehicles, and guided aerial bombs were used.
Civilians and infrastructure suffered damage, with multiple facilities reported destroyed or severely affected.
Local authorities, working alongside the State Emergency Service, National Police, and community organisations, evacuated 10 people over the past 24 hours.
Air raid alerts in the region lasted for 8 hours and 24 minutes.
