Russia targets rail network in Ukraine's Zhytomyr region, one dead
A woman was killed after Russia launched a nighttime drone attack targeting railway infrastructure in Ukraine’s Zhytomyr region, according to regional authorities.
Vitaliy Bunchenko, head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, said the strike hit civilian transport infrastructure, describing it as “another insidious drone attack.”
“The enemy carried out another insidious drone strike on civilian transport infrastructure in the Zhytomyr region. Unfortunately, it is currently known that one woman was killed as a result of the attack. Rescue workers, repair crews, and law enforcement agencies are working at the scene,” Bunchenko wrote on his Telegram channel.
Emergency responders, repair teams, and law enforcement personnel were deployed to the site to manage the aftermath and begin recovery efforts.
