Russia tests “Stormtrooper” ground drone at the front
A new ground-based drone called “Stormtrooper” has begun testing in the zone of the so-called “special military operation,” the developer company Drone Force Aero told TASS.
The company said the vehicle is a low-visibility, highly manoeuvrable unmanned system designed to deliver a combat payload of up to 20 kg. It can also be used as a “waiting drone” due to its compact size.
According to the developers, the prototype was inspired by the early 20th-century armoured vehicle Tsar Tank, and its name reflects its intended use by assault units.
The company added that the “Stormtrooper” is equipped with a fibre-optic communication line, allowing it to operate at distances of up to 30 km. Developers claim the drone is resistant to electronic warfare systems and can operate in difficult weather conditions, including mud and rain. In case the primary communication line is damaged, a backup digital module is activated.
