Russia uses laser weapon systems in Ukraine.

Thus, the Kremlin decided to reduce the use of expensive missiles, RBC-Ukraine reports, referring to the statement of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov.

It is about the laser weapon that is capable of physically hitting targets.

"They are already being supplied (to the troops, - ed.). Yes, the first samples are already being used (in hostilities in Ukraine, - ed.)," he said.

According to him, the laser complex used in Ukraine is called "Badass".

It should be noted that the signing of the contract for the development of the combat complex "Badass-16", working on new physical principles, became known in August 2017.

It was signed with the All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics in Saratov (part of Rosatom) with the participation of Borisov, who at that time held the post of Deputy Minister of Defence.
