Russia wants to produce armoured vehicles in Middle East
Head of Rosoboronexport Alexander Mikheev has said that Russia wants to produce weapons and military equipment in the Middle East.
"We are discussing joint development and production, including of firearms, armoured vehicles, and aircraft of the latest generations, in the Middle East," Mikheyev said at Dubai Airshow 2023 on he said at the Dubai Airshow 2023 International Aerospace Exhibition, Interfax reports.
"Given that the countries of the region seek to enhance [their] technological independence and to develop their national defence industries, Rosoboronexport sees great potential for technological cooperation in the first instance," Mikheev said.
Middle Eastern countries account for 40% to 50% of the Rosoboronexport book of orders, he said.
