Russian agents suspected in arson attack on Ukrainian officer’s car photo
In Zaporizhzhia, officers from the National Police of Ukraine together with the Security Service of Ukraine, detained two local residents suspected of setting fire to a Ukrainian military officer’s vehicle on instructions from a representative of Russian special services.
According to the police press service, the suspects carried out the arson in exchange for a monetary reward and reported the completion of the task to their handler via a messaging application.
Law enforcement authorities quickly identified and apprehended the individuals. During authorised searches, investigators seized mobile phones as well as clothing and footwear believed to have been used during the commission of the crime.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are currently checking the detainees for possible involvement in similar incidents across the region.
