Russian airline to resume Nizhnevartovsk–Baku flights

Russian regional airline IrAero will resume regular flights between Nizhnevartovsk and Baku starting April 5, with tickets already available for purchase.

The service will operate once a week using a Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. Flights will depart from Baku’s Heydar Aliyev International Airport on Saturdays at 23:50, with return flights leaving Nizhnevartovsk on Sundays at 06:40, Caliber.Az reports via local media. 

The route restoration comes amid broader growth in regional air travel. Earlier reports noted that Surgut Airport in western Siberia expanded its route network to 89 destinations last year.

Among the most popular international destinations for passengers from the region are Baku, Khujand in Tajikistan, and Osh in Kyrgyzstan.
