Russian airstrike hits Zaporizhzhia apartment block, civilians injured PHOTO
Russian forces carried out an airstrike on the Zaporizhzhia district in the early hours of February 20, leaving at least two civilians injured, preliminary reports confirmed.
A 22-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man were wounded, while the total number of casualties is still being clarified, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported.
According to the Emergency Service, a Russian aerial bomb struck a four-story residential building, damaging its facade, windows and roof. A fire broke out in one of the apartments on the second floor following the impact.
Emergency responders swiftly extinguished the blaze and are continuing to inspect the damaged buildings to determine whether additional assistance is required for residents. All city emergency services remain on site as response efforts continue.
