Russian army brigade commander killed in Ukraine

The commander of the Russian army’s 4th motorized rifle brigade Col Vyacheslav Makarov has been killed in the fighting in the Donetsk Region of Ukraine.

The statement came from Russian Defence Ministry spokesman Lt Gen Igor Konashenkov, TASS reports.

According to him, the brigadier was severely wounded and died during the evacuation from the battlefield.

Konashenkov also reported the death of Col Yevgeny Brovko, deputy commander of the army corps for military-political work, who led the actions of the personnel.
